Structural characteristics of three roll grinding machine

The three roll grinder is mainly composed of an organic seat, a guide cover, a roller shaft seat, a feeding copper knife, a discharge knife plate, a cooling device, gears, pulleys, etc. On the two guide rails of the machine base, there are six bearing seats supporting the fast, medium, and slow rollers. Among them, the middle roller bearing seat is fixed together with the machine base and guide cover without relative movement, while the fast and slow roller shaft seats are compressed by adjusting the handwheel compression spring on the screw on the two guide rails of the machine base to move forward and backward to meet the required fineness of the studied material.

1. Transmission system

It is driven by a motor inside the organic seat to the transmission shaft through a V-belt. The fast roller gear is driven by the transmission shaft gear, and the middle roller gear is supported by another gear on the fast roller. The slow roller gear is driven by another gear on the middle roller, forming a transmission system.

2. Roller components

The roller is made of cold hard alloy by centrifugal casting (S65 type is Gcr15). The shaft heads at both ends of the cylinder body adopt a large interference cold pressing process, making the fit with the cylinder body strong and stable.

3. Feeding components

It mainly consists of two copper knives and a copper knife bracket. They are installed between the effective working arcs at both ends of the slow and medium rollers, mainly to prevent the material being studied from overflowing to both ends between the three rollers. The copper knife bracket is mainly used to fix the copper knife, adjust the adhesion between the copper knife arc and the surface of the roller to prevent material overflow, and take out the copper knife for easy cleaning.

4. Cooling components:

In order to properly remove the heat generated by the squeezing and friction of the material being studied on the working surface of the roller, so as not to affect the flatness of the contact surfaces between the rollers, a cooling water pipe is installed at one end of the machine, which can adjust the cooling water flow inside the three rollers through the water pipe, so as to maintain a relatively good shape of the roller during work and improve the fineness and efficiency of grinding. The return water flows into the sewer through a water bucket.

5. Adjusting components:

It mainly consists of a handwheel installed on four adjusting screws and a spring between the shaft seat. By rotating the handwheel to force the spring to compress or spring out, the fast and slow rollers can move back and forth to adjust the grinding fineness of the material being studied.

6. Discharge components:

The discharge knife plate for discharging is installed on the discharge knife plate bracket. The upper mouth of the discharge knife plate is equipped with a scraper blade. By adjusting the screw of the pressure blade, the blade is tightly attached to the surface of the fast roller. The position of the blade should be slightly higher than the center of the roller, so as to smoothly scrape off the material that has been finely ground and attached to the surface of the fast roller.

The force of the three roll machine is very high during operation, so the equipment is required to be very sturdy. The manufacturing of the roller must be finely ground to ensure that the roller surface remains highly parallel under operating conditions, and the gap distance between the inner seams of the entire length of the roller remains consistent. It is best to grind the roller surface to a matte surface so that the slurry can adhere well. There is a cold water circulation channel inside the roller to suppress temperature rise during dispersion and avoid adverse grinding.
