Why Do We Need Ceramic Slurry Defoaming Machine

MLCC Ceramic Dielectrics

MLCC ceramic dielectric slurry is applied by ultra-thin coating and printing. Tiny bubbles cause pinholes and delamination in dielectric layers, leading to capacitor defects and voltage breakdown after sintering.

Ceramic Substrates & Structural Components

For tape casting and forming of alumina/zirconia ceramic slurries, entrapped bubbles create pinholes and uneven density in green bodies, resulting in cracking, deformation and reduced strength after sintering.

Difficult Defoaming for High-solid Slurries

High-solid, high-viscosity ceramic slurries make bubbles hard to float up. Manual stirring introduces new air bubbles and poor consistency of green bodies.

✨ Traditional Dilemma: Bubbles in high-solid ceramic slurries are tiny and sticky. Incomplete defoaming causes cracking and scrapping during sintering. Synchronous vacuum defoaming and dispersion is required.

Why Choose SIENOX Ceramic Slurry Defoaming Solution

Dense Green Body

After bubble removal, the slurry becomes dense and uniform with consistent green body density, reducing pinholes and cracking upon sintering.

Simultaneous Defoaming & Dispersion

Vacuum stirring performs defoaming while breaking up agglomerates of ceramic particles for better performance in tape casting and printing.

Smooth Scale-up

Lab-scale C/ZK series, pilot MIX series and mass-production MIX1000plus. Process parameters can be replicated smoothly.

  • How does the stirring and defoaming machine work?

The SIENOX stirring and defoaming machine performs defoaming through centrifugal force at revolution and stirring through shear force formed by revolution and rotation,

Assisted by a vacuum pump to extract gas and achieve a vacuum state, removing nanoscale tiny bubbles. No contact with materials, no secondary pollution, and no secondary waste.

  • What is the function of a defoaming machine?

A defoaming machine is a device used to remove bubbles from liquids. Its function is to assist in the liquid mixing, reaction, coating, printing, infusion and other process steps in the production process, avoiding the generation of bubbles and their impact on the final product. In many industrial and laboratory environments, removing bubbles is essential as they may have a negative impact on product quality, such as affecting surface tension and stability. Defoaming machines typically use various techniques such as vibration, ultrasound, centrifugation, etc. to achieve effective bubble removal. It has a wide range of applications, including but not limited to semiconductors, solar energy, optics, biotechnology, materials science, etc.

Precautions for Use

NotesOperation Instructions
Defoaming EfficiencyAdjust vacuum duration and rotating speed according to the process for high-solid and high-viscosity slurries to ensure full flotation of microbubbles.
Prevent Particle SedimentationCeramic particles tend to settle. Perform tape casting or forming immediately after defoaming to avoid stratification during standing.
Slow Pressure ReliefRelease pressure slowly after defoaming to prevent re-foaming of high-viscosity slurry.
Clean EnvironmentAvoid introduction of impurities and moisture; keep slurry and tools clean.

* Internal laboratory test data. Actual results vary with slurry formulation and forming process. Contact sales for real customer cases.
