Offset Printing Ink Defoaming Machine

Resolve bubbles and pinholes of offset ink · Full dot gain, uniform ink color and reduced paper mottling

Simultaneous defoaming via vacuum and stirring + Break up pigment agglomerates + Smooth scale-up from sampling to mass production

SIENOX offset ink defoaming solution targets bubbles trapped in lithographic offset ink during color mixing, circulation and ink feeding. Stirring and defoaming are completed concurrently under vacuum to thoroughly remove ink bubbles and realize uniform pigment dispersion, delivering full printing dots and consistent ink color while cutting down pinholes, mottling and paper spots.

Why Do We Need Phenolic Resin Defoaming Machine

Lithographic Offset Printing

Offset ink features high viscosity and strong thixotropy. Air is easily entrapped during ink mixing and ink path circulation, resulting in pinholes and mottling on solid and flat tint areas after printing, which affects printing pass rate directly.

High-speed Multi-color Overprinting

During continuous overprinting on high-speed multi-color presses, bubbles cause missing print, streaks and ink color fluctuation. Such defects are hard to remedy in subsequent processes, leading to mass rejects and production downtime for adjustment.

Spot Color & Metallic Inks

Spot color inks, gold and silver inks contain large amounts of pigments and metal powders. Bubbles and poor dispersion coexist, bringing about pinholes, insufficient color development and unstable hue.

✨ Traditional dilemma: Manual ink mixing inevitably entraps air. Adding defoamers will impair ink film adhesion and gloss. Static vacuum treatment fails for high-viscosity ink. Synchronous vacuum stirring and defoaming is required.

Why Choose SIENOX Phenolic Mixing & Defoaming Solution

Simultaneous Mixing and Defoaming

Stirring and defoaming proceed under vacuum at the same time. Color mixing and defoaming are finished in one step to prevent new bubbles introduced by secondary transfer and improve efficiency.

Break Pigment Agglomerates

Rotational shear breaks up agglomerates of pigments and metal powders for more uniform ink color and better color development, stabilizing hue of spot color and metallic inks.

Scalable for All Stages

C/ZK series for laboratory sampling and MIX series for bulk ink supply. Formulas can be smoothly transferred from sampling to production line.

✨ The MIX series serves as ideal defoaming equipment for offset printing ink from color matching to bulk ink supply.

  • How does the stirring and defoaming machine work?

The SIENOX stirring and defoaming machine performs defoaming through centrifugal force at revolution and stirring through shear force formed by revolution and rotation,

Assisted by a vacuum pump to extract gas and achieve a vacuum state, removing nanoscale tiny bubbles. No contact with materials, no secondary pollution, and no secondary waste.

  • What is the function of a defoaming machine?

A defoaming machine is a device used to remove bubbles from liquids. Its function is to assist in the liquid mixing, reaction, coating, printing, infusion and other process steps in the production process, avoiding the generation of bubbles and their impact on the final product. In many industrial and laboratory environments, removing bubbles is essential as they may have a negative impact on product quality, such as affecting surface tension and stability. Defoaming machines typically use various techniques such as vibration, ultrasound, centrifugation, etc. to achieve effective bubble removal. It has a wide range of applications, including but not limited to semiconductors, solar energy, optics, biotechnology, materials science, etc.

Precautions for Use

NotesOperation Instructions
Vacuum LevelControl vacuum degree and duration to prevent viscosity change caused by excessive degassing of solvent-based offset inks.
Slow Pressure ReliefOpen the lid and release pressure slowly after defoaming to avoid ink splashing and re-foaming.
Heating for Viscosity ReductionFor inks with excessively high viscosity, properly heat to reduce viscosity before defoaming to improve defoaming and dispersion performance.
Timely ApplicationUse the ink on printing machine as soon as possible after defoaming to prevent air re-entrapment during standing.

* Internal laboratory test data. Actual results vary with ink formulation and printing process. Contact sales for real customer cases.
