SIENOX SIE-BM5000 planetary ball mill is designed for mass production and pre-production process verification. Four 5000mL grinding jars are mounted on one rotating disc. Revolution speed 190rpm, rotation speed 280rpm. Grinding balls inside jars mill and mix samples under high-speed movement. It supports both dry and wet grinding, with minimum particle size down to 0.1μm. Four batches of large-volume grinding can be finished in one loading.
SIE-BM5000 is equipped with a programmable LCD touch screen, supporting forward-reverse alternating operation, interval operation, timed operation and data storage. Grinding parameters can be saved and recalled programmatically to guarantee consistent batch results in mass production. With 5.5KW driving power, solid 300kg frame and 380V industrial power supply, it fits long-term continuous workshop operation. Working Principle
Based on planetary motion principle
SIENOX SIE-BM5000 operates based on the planetary motion principle. Grinding jars are mounted on the main disc (sun wheel). While the main disc revolves around the central axis, the grinding jars rotate at high speed around their own axes in the opposite direction. Revolution speed: 190rpm, rotation speed: 280rpm.
Under this compound motion, the grinding media (balls) inside the jars are subjected to two alternating forces: Impact Force: The balls are thrown at high speed and deliver strong impact on samples to crush coarse particles; Friction & Shear Force: High-frequency friction and shear occur between balls, and between balls and jar walls to grind and disperse fine particles. When the centrifugal acceleration generated by revolution exceeds the critical value, the balls are pressed against the jar wall and rotate together with the vessel without effective grinding. Therefore, reasonable speed setting and transmission ratio design are critical to grinding efficiency. SIENOX optimizes the transmission ratio to achieve proper centrifugal acceleration within the effective speed range for high-efficiency grinding.
